Heavily reworked slides from '99 session. Detailed description of PIM-DM and PIM-SM protocol operations. Provides a level of detail needed to debug protocol operations and configuration problems in practice.

Heavily reworked slides from '99 session. Complete but concise introduction to PIM-SM, PIM-DM, Added description of Anycast-RP mechanism, overview on IP Multicast performance issues, load-splitting with tunnels, mechanisms on how to define non-congruent unicast/multicast topologies (static, DVMRP, MBGP). Added better explanations on spt-threshold and helper-maps.
Dropped descriptions on "old" technologies - Multicast over ATM, LANE, NBMA-Networks, ATM P2MP signalling (see '99 slides!).
2217 Advanced IP Multicast Routing (PowerPoint,PDF) Greg Shepherd
Heavily reworked slides over '99, extended on practical aspects of interdomain multicast routing, MSDP RPF-check, MSDP SA boundary filter recommendations, GLOB addressing. Description of basic IP SSM mechanisms.
Not covered: PGM, MRM, UDLR (see '99 slides!).
